7 day Mtb ride through the bush from Cairns to Karumba (780km) to help raise money so the kids who live out on the rural properties (the Bush Kids) can have the same educational advantages as the city kids.

780km and over 400m ascent in 7 days, from Cairns to Karumba, on road bikes. Riding up the Kuranda range, past Mareeba and Herberton, Ravenshoe, Mr Garnet, Mt Surprising, via the Newcastle Range to Georgetown, to Croydon via Gilbert River and vast savannah landscapes, racing against the Gulflander train into Normanton, before arriving in Karumba. I know you wish you were doing it too 🙂

The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride has raised over $1,140,000 during the past 21 years! This money has supported: Cairns School of Distance Education State primary schools – including Mt Garnet, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba Child care centres and sports associations across Cape York, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Burns Unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and Children’s Services at the Cairns Base Hospital
This year the event is aiming to raise over $100,000 and with your help we are confident of achieving this goal.

You all know I love doing crazy things on bikes and so I have entered the Cairns to Karumba bike ride, a total of 780kms in one week.
All the time I spend on the bike is mainly out of pleasure and not training. I like to ride my bike to see new places and experience new things so having the opportunity to do this event is quite amazing. It will be a massive week on the bike in unknown terrain, sounds like a dream come true…
One of the best plus sides is I can now help raise money for students in Far North QLD get the education they need and see the places they reside first hand. If you could find the time to donate to my campaign I promise to give all the blood sweat and tears I can and fang it across the cape with all of Toowoomba cycling’s friends backing me!!!!

I’ll be riding 780km from Cairns to Karumba over 7 days starting on Saturday 26th June 2021. This incredible adventure is by far my biggest cycling challenge and I’m super excited to be a part of such a fantastic event. The C2K is a charity ride raising much needed funds to support educational connection for students in remote Far North Queensland communities, providing them with educational opportunities. The smallest donation is much appreciated as they all add up to make a huge difference to a very worthwhile charity.
