Dale Brown’s C2K 2019

Having just turned 60 I’m having another go at the awesome C2K Dirty Boys ride from Cairns to Karumba. I will be riding a (semi) fat bike through the scrub rather than completing the ride with the Roadies.

We are doing this to raise funds to assist School of the Air provide services to some of the most isolated kids in Australia.

If you would like to help please  follow the links to donate.

Cheers. Brownie

Lorraine’s C2K Challenge

April 2018 I decided to get on my bike to get fit. I met a wonderful group of cyclist in Innisfail that talked about previous C2K rides.  I didnt have to take much time to decide that 2019 would be a great time to get involved in this challenging ride and raise some funds for the wonderful people that support the kids and families who live in the Far North Queensland Outback.

I am self funded for this charity ride but any donations I can raise will be appreciated by the kids of the area where the ride takes us. All funds raised help outback students have learning experiences that they may not have been able to access due to costs.

Cairns 2 Karumba Ride 2019 – Jen Shaw

Last year’s adventure of a lifetime was so much fun I’m going back for more. To do this, I need to raise $500 for Far North Queensland Distance Education. I want to help country kids in remote locations get a better education and opportunities they wouldn’t get without our help.

Allison’s Adventure

So I’ve decided to go the distance over the June/July school holidays in 2019 with my new love- my mountain bike!

I will ride 780kms through cattle stations, trails, river crossings and rural communities over 7 days from my hometown, Cairns to Karumba. My Mum, Lorraine will be going the distance in the road section with her pals from the Innisfail Bike Users Group and we would love for you to support us in raising funds for a good cause.

The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride has raised over $1,140,000 during the past 2 years!
This money has supported: Cairns School of Distance Education
State primary schools – including Mt Garnet, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba Child care centres and sports associations across Cape York.
Royal Flying Doctor Service,
Burns Unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital,
Children’s Services at the Cairns Base Hospital.

This year we are aiming to raise over $100 000 and with your help we are confident of achieving this goal.

Show some love and support us so we can support them.

Fat lad at the back Cairns to Karumba

Dear friends, and family,

As my great Australian adventure continues into another year, without immigration deporting me……so far,  I have found a new challenge for 2019.

A mountain bike ride from Cairns to Karumba… It seemed like a great idea at the time….

It is to help raise money for distance learning, which to my friends outside of Australia, doesn’t mean just sitting, further away from teacher at the back of the class… No, I should coco!!

It supports all the kids in remote regions of Australia get an education. Now, mark my word, that really is a long way from anywhere.

So, In June 2019 I will be attempting to ride form Cairns to Karumba in north QLD, wherever that is, I hear you ask(top right on the map of Oz)?  It is a lot of km’s….  Through a lot of dust, and other places so I am told, check out the website… https://c2kbikeride.com.au/itinerary/

I’m told we start the day with a  nip of Jagermeister, which has over 50 herbs, fruits, spices and roots, so it must be good for you.

That along with all the riding and sunshine, beer stops(to aid hydration, so I’m told, )it must be good for you. Plus a huge amount of fun, as we ride through a lot of private properties that support the cause.

Thanks for taking the time to support me, be it financially as a sponsor, morally with your well wishes, or both. I am grateful either way of anything you wish to give.

I will keep you posted, and you can follow our progress as we ride….

Cheers

Bruno
