Riding from Cairns to Karumba raising funds for Distance Ed
3rd Year Dirty Boys
I am participating in the Cairns to Karumba bike ride again to help raise funds to support the education of children who live in regional and remote areas of north Queensland. This incredible event has raised a substantial amount of money of many years of support from riders and volunteers from all over Australia. I am proud to be part of this incredible event.
Lou does Cairns to Kurumba
I’m riding right across Cape York on my Mountain Bike to raise money for remote children’s education.
So many kids out west suffered catastrophic stock losses in the huge floods we had in February. Most of these kids lost farm animals which were beloved pets as well.
I’d love to help contribute to getting these kids some fun and happiness back into their daily lives.
C2K
It’s C2K time again, and this is the 4th year I’ve participated in this great event. Woo!!! Some people think it’s crazy, but THIS is my idea of FUN!
If you’re able to make a donation, big or small please do. Your donation goes towards providing better educational opportunities for kids in Far North Queensland.
The Bush Legends
We are a group of students with Cairns School of Distance Education. Not all of us can join in on the ride because we don’t all live along the route the ride takes in. We all love to ride and be active. This is our way of joining in and being part of this epic adventure! We would love it if you could show your support for us.
Cairns 2 Karumba Bike Ride Croydon Police
- The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride is managed by Milboe Ltd, a not for profit public company and registered charity, established for the sole purpose of coordinating, managing and taking responsibility for the ride.
Riders depart Cairns and ride for 7 days to Karumba, covering 780km and raising money for Far North Queensland Schools. As the Adopt a Cop at the Croydon Primary Schools I know how important any funding is to support the School and kids who attend.
To date the event has raised and distributed in excess of $1,045,000. Beneficiaries include: Cairns School of Distance Education, Primary Schools – Mt Garnet, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba as well as child care centres, sports associations and more.

Looking forward to the challenge of this ride and hopefully raising some money for a great cause.
Paul’s C2K Fundraising bikeride
Hope to make the distance on my bike (about 800 Km) with the help of some of our more athletic friends. This is my first charity ride, and not before time!
Full details of the charity are on the C2K website.
Team Cairns SDE 2019
The Team Cairns SDE 2019 is all about connecting and giving our students opportunities.
Cairns School of Distance Education encapsulates the diverse nature of its community and the inclusion of its students with its motto Global Learning. Technological innovation delivers opportunities to students of all ages and provides alternative pathways to becoming independent, resilient, productive and self-sufficient learners. The dynamic learning and flexible curriculum ensures our students will receive the best from their schooling years. Teachers, home tutors, parents and students develop positive and supportive relationships in the flexible learning environment.
All students are welcome in our multicultural school community. Our school values the innovative use of technology to foster an expanding collaborative culture, creating more opportunities for students to connect with the world and each other. Student diversity makes Cairns SDE the pioneering school it is, where diversity is celebrated.
Students and teachers collaborate to establish a positive teaching and learning environment. Students also work independently to solve problems giving them the confidence to question and the opportunity to show initiative. Student-led learning empowers students to take initiative and ownership of their education. They understand the importance of discovery and the processes involved, fostering a growth mindset and the intrinsic motivation required to challenge themselves in preparation for the future.
Cairns School of Distance Education is a connected community. Every member has an important role in each student’s learning. Home Tutors, Teachers, Student Leaders and the School Leadership Team provide students with the experience they need through learning, understanding and collaboration. The non-teaching staff also support students and teachers. Students are given a voice through the Student Leader program, building trust and respect throughout the school community.
Students of Cairns School of Distance Education learn in an environment which fosters resilience, confidence, passion, individuality and courage. The connected community develops a safe place where failure is seen as a way of improving yourself and success is a stepping stone to something greater.

C2K FOR KIDS IN FNQ
Hey guys! I’m participating in a charity bike ride this year from Cairns to Karumba. I will only be participating for three of the days as I have work commitments, but thats still over 300k of riding and I want to do my fair share and raise funds for the charity! The charity raises funds for kids in remote locations in FNQ who need help with distance learning. Funds go towards school outings, online tutors, online school content, and sports activities for the kids.
Do the right thing and throw these kids a $10.
