This is a great cause – everyone deserves an education wherever they live, and to boot I’ve never cycled in FNQ and really looking forward to an adventure with a bunch of like minded people. By raising funds and riding from Cairns to Karumba we connect students in Far North Queensland with educational opportunities. To date the event has raised and distributed in excess of $1,140,000. Beneficiaries include: Cairns School of Distance Education, Primary Schools – Mt Garnet, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba as well as child care centres, sports associations and more. The event is a bike ride of 780 km over 7 days from Cairns, over the Atherton Tablelands to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria.
