This ANZAC family are no strangers to outback travel and distance learning. Back in 2000, Glenn and Liz Summerville shipped their Landcruiser from NZ, bought a caravan and spent the next 13 months travelling around Australia as a family. Liz, an Australian trained teacher used the NZ Education correspondence Learning from a Distance program to “Home School” their three daughters Phillippa, Brooke and Tegan (then 11,9 and 7 years). What an amazing time that was and the now adult Mums now recount just how special that time was.
Fast forward to 2023, Glenn and Liz now proudly have FIVE beautiful grandchildren and want to reinforce just how powerful Distance Learning CAN BE.
Keen mountain / gravel bikers jumped at the chance to ride from Cairns to Karumba in the DIRT riders section of the C2K annual ride – and YOU guessed it, in support of the Cairns and Districts LEARNING from a DISTANCE Charity Ride.
Daughter Brooke, Husband Adam along with Ziggy 3 and Oakley 1 are the support Team, setting up camp and making sure the refreshments are COLD each afternoon at the end of each of 7 days riding, totalling 750km.
Bring it on !!
