This is the major fundraising event for our school’s P&C association. Unlike other schools, we are unable to easily conduct a fete. This event is our school’s version of a fete.
This iconic multi-day ride is our version of ‘playground duty,’ – what a privilege 🙂

I’m once again combining my love travel and seeing the world from my bicycle with helping a good cause. This time I’m riding 780km from Cairns to Karumba over 7 days and raising funds for children in the outback.
We will set out from Cairns on the 26th June and arrive in Karumba on 2nd July. I certainly won’t be alone in my endeavour, you’d be surprised how many people are crazy enough to sign up for this type of adventure.

The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride benefits many communities and organizations across the North Queensland region. The main focus is on supporting and benefiting children who live in the remote rural areas of the region. Today beneficiaries include: Cairns School of Distance Education, State primary schools – including Mt Garnet, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba as well as child care centres, sports associations and more.
